Our Ocean Ohana

Hanalei Surfboard Rentals has been providing Kauai visitors and residents with surfboards, standup paddleboards, body boars and whatever they need to have fun in the ocean for 26 years.  Our first location was at the Hanalei River mouth corner. After outgrowing our old spot, we moved to the Hanalei Pier area. In 2011 we opened the Hanalei Beach Boys Surf Shack at 5-5134 Kuhio Highway in Hanalei. You’ll find us 3/4 way up the first block (if entering town down from princeville) on right side of the street. Look for our little red painted shop (which shares a parking lot with Tahiti Nui Restaurant and Bar) and our sign, Hawaiian Surfing Adventures.

We’ve been offering Kauai surfboard rentals since 2011 from our shop right next to, world-famous, Tahiti Nui Restaurant and Bar (featured in The Descendants). We are right on the main street in Hanalei. The Alapa family and crew look forward to assisting you with your surfboard and stand up paddleboard rentals. It’s no secret that we will make you feel home in the water, and are eager to fulfill your specific surfing needs.

If you are staying on the North Shore of Kauai (Hanalei area, Haena, Princeville or Kilauea) we can deliver your choice of boards to you. 1/2 day and full day delivery of Surfboards and Stand Up Paddle Boards to Hanalei Bay 8am daily for a small fee. Delivered boards must be turned in by 2pm. Boards include leash and straps. Cost of boards include delivery and pick up if renting for 4 or more days.
